Today, we will learn how to make Poha. Poha is an indian breakfast recipe made of crushed or flattened rice. Indian housewife’s make this breakfast almost 3 to 4 times a week. Poha is most favorite breakfast of india. In india, you will notice that poha is available as a street food also.

Ingredients To Use In Poha

*For 4 Servings of Poha

  • Washed & Wet Poha (Crushed Rice) : 1 Bowl
  • Turmeric Powder : 1 Teaspoon
  • Chopped Onion : 1 Cup
  • Coriander Leaves : 10-15
  • Peanuts : 1 Cup
  • Green Chilies : 3 (Chopped)
  • Cumin Seeds : 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil : 2 Teaspoon
  • Salt : 1 Teaspoon

How To Make Poha

Light the gas on low falme and put 2 Teaspoon oil in the pan. In oil, add 1 tsp cumin seeds and 1 cup chopped onions. Now mix this mixture for around 20 seconds. Now add 1 tsp turmeric powder and keep mixing it in between. After turmeric, add green chilies, 1 tsp salt and 1 cup peanuts in the mixture. Now mix all these ingredients properly and then add washed poha (flattened rice) in this mixture. Now just mix poha in this mixture properly until the poha turns to light yellow color.

Now our poha is ready to serve. Just put it into a serving plate and serve it hot.

Tips :

Poha should be well washed and soaked for 10 to 15 minutes, You can use red chili powder instead of  green chilies if you want, Poha should be served hot only. While serving, you can add some coconut powder and coriander leaves on poha if you wish.

Moong Bhajiya, a tasty Indian snack is made occasionally in Indian parties and family get-together. There are various types of Bhajiya’s you can make like Bhajiya’s of Chickpea Flour, Sooji Bhajiya’s or Pakoras. Today we will learn how to make moong bhajiyas perfectly.

Ingredients For Moong Bhajiya

  • Moong Dal (Soaked For 2-3 Hrs) : 1 Bowl
  • Chopped Coriander : 1 Cup
  • Green Chillies : 3-4
  • Cumin Seeds : 1 Tsp
  • Coriander Seeds : 1 Tsp
  • Fennel Seeds : 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric Powder : 1/2 Tsp
  • Oil : 1 Small Bowl
  • Salt : 1 Tsp

How To Make Moong Bhajiya

First of all, take a soaked moong dal and blend it with green chilies. Also blend coriander seeds, cumin seeds and fennel seeds separately and blend them. Now take a blended moong dal in bowl and mix 1 cup coriander leaves, blended seeds mixture, turmeric powder and salt (add all of them as the given quantity in ingredients). Now mix this batter properly. The short picture clips given below will give you the idea of the process.

How to make moong bhajiya instantly

Now that your batter is ready, heat up the oil in the pan and deep fry the bhajiyas on the low flame until they turn slightly brown as per shown in the video above. When bhajiyas turns to brown, simply take them out of the pan and put them on the napkin to remove excess oil from the bhajiyas. Moong Bhajiya should be crispy and spicy. Bhajiyas should be served hot as their taste enhance more when they are hot. While serving bhajiyas, you can use various chutneys or sauces, like tamarind chutney, tomato souse or dates chutney.

Tip :

While deep frying bhajiyas if oil gets hotter, then you should avoid frying bhajiyas in the over hot oil. It may cause bhajiyas get burnt entirely and they may turn dark brown in color. This is a sign that bhajiyas are over fried.
